geyser prices and types in Lahore – electric gas and hybrid geyser buying guide

Types of Geysers in Pakistan: Which One Suits Your Home?

When it comes to finding the right geyser for your home, the choices can feel overwhelming. Before you compare prices, it helps to understand what you are actually choosing between — because in Pakistan there are four distinct types of geyser, and they suit very different homes. Get the type wrong and no amount of shopping around will fix it.

This guide explains all four: fast electric, electric storage, instant, gas and hybrid gas-electric. What each one costs to run, what it needs from your gas and electricity supply, and which family size it fits. If you want to compare exact models, you’ll find current geyser prices in Pakistan on our main geyser page, updated live. At Applimart.pk (also known as Appliances Mart), we stock geysers from Fischer, Canon, NasGas, Daichi and Eco Watt.

The Four Types of Geyser Sold in Pakistan

1. Fast Electric Geysers — the default choice

Fast electric water heaters are the most common geyser in Pakistani homes. They store a modest tank of water — anywhere from 10 to 80 litres — and reheat it quickly with an electric element. They mount on a wall, need no gas connection, and install in an afternoon.

Prices start at around ₨19,000 for a 30-litre model and rise with capacity.

  • Best for: kitchens, single bathrooms, apartments, and any home with unreliable gas
  • Capacity range: 10 L to 80 L
  • Typical models: Canon 10 LCF for a kitchen, Fischer F-50 Heavy for a family bathroom, Canon 40 LY with a metal body
  • Watch for: ELCB double protection, an adjustable thermostat and an auto thermal cutoff — all standard on the Canon range

2. Electric Storage Geysers — for high, sustained demand

Electric storage geysers are the floor-standing big brothers of the wall-mounted units above. Where a fast electric heater serves one bathroom, a storage geyser holds 100 litres or more and is rated by how many gallons it can reheat per hour.

That recovery rate is the number worth comparing. The NasGas NEG range publishes it on every model: NEG-50 heats 12 gallons per hour, NEG-80 heats 20. If four people shower one after another, recovery matters more than tank size.

3. Instant Electric Geysers — no tank at all

An instant electric geyser stores nothing. It heats water as it flows through, so there is no tank to keep warm and no standby loss. Our instant model is the Daichi RP-55, which runs at 2.1–5.5 kW with digital temperature control and works from as little as 0.02 MPa of water pressure — useful in older plumbing.

Prices start at around ₨22,500.

  • Best for: kitchens and second washrooms used briefly, a few times a day
  • Not for: filling a bathtub, or two bathrooms running at once — it draws hard while in use

4. Gas Geysers — lowest running cost, when gas is available

Gas geysers heat a large storage tank with a gas burner. They cost more to buy than electric models but far less to run, and they keep working through load-shedding because they need no electricity at all.

Prices start at around ₨51,500 for a 35 gallon tank.

  • Best for: larger homes on a street with reliable year-round gas pressure
  • Capacity range: 35 and 55 gallon
  • Typical models: Fischer 35 Gallon Deluxe, Fischer 55 Gallon Heavy Duty
  • The catch: when winter gas pressure drops, a gas-only geyser stops producing hot water. If that happens on your street, buy hybrid instead

5. Hybrid Gas + Electric Geysers — a second heat source

Hybrid geysers carry both a gas burner and an electric element in the same tank. You run gas most of the year and switch to electric when pressure drops — which is exactly when you need hot water most.

Prices start at around ₨41,500 for a 25 gallon model.

Which Type Suits Your Home?

Type Entry price Needs gas? Works in load-shedding? Best for
Fast electric from ~₨19,000 No No Kitchens, single bathrooms, apartments
Instant electric from ~₨22,500 No No Kitchen or second washroom, brief use
Hybrid gas + electric from ~₨41,500 Optional Yes, on gas Unreliable gas pressure, large families
Electric storage from ~₨45,000 No No 5+ people, multiple bathrooms
Gas from ~₨51,500 Yes Yes Reliable gas supply, lowest running cost

One thing worth correcting, because it is widely repeated: gas geysers are not cheaper to buy than electric ones. A gas geyser costs roughly two and a half times an entry-level electric unit. Gas is cheaper to run, so it pays back over years — but only if your gas pressure holds up. Prices above are current starting points; exact live prices for every model are on the geyser category page.

How to Choose the Right Geyser for Your Home

Consider Capacity

Buy for your normal week, not your worst-case day — an oversized tank costs you every day of the year. As a rough guide: 10–15 litres for a kitchen sink, 25–30 litres for one bathroom, 40–50 litres for a family of four, 60–80 litres for five or more people, and 100 litres or 35 gallons upward for three or more bathrooms.

Think About Fuel Type

  • Electric: simplest to install, works anywhere there is power, higher running cost
  • Gas: cheapest to run, highest purchase price, useless without gas pressure
  • Hybrid: costs more than electric, less than gas at the same capacity, and never leaves you without hot water
  • Instant: lowest standby waste, but only for short, single-point use

Understand Deluxe vs Heavy

Most Fischer geysers come in two build grades. Deluxe uses a 14-gauge inner tank with a 2-year tank warranty; Heavy uses a thicker 10-gauge tank with 3 years. The element, thermostat and insulation are identical — you are paying for tank life. On hard water, Heavy is usually worth it. See the full comparison on our Fischer geyser range.

Brand Reputation and Reliability

When investing in a geyser, it’s important to choose a reliable brand. At Applimart.pk we stock Canon, NasGas, Fischer and Daichi, all known for their quality and durability.

Maintenance and Safety Features

Geysers should be safe and easy to maintain. Look for an adjustable thermostat, an automatic thermal cutoff, a brass safety valve and — on hard water — an anti-scaling rod, which every NasGas NEG model carries. Scale on the element makes it draw more power to do the same job.
